Isabelle, how would you define luxury?

For me, luxury is synonym of quality, and knowledge. Everything is in the details, the finishing touches, the materials. It’s an art… and a pleasure that we offer ourselves!

How would you describe what you do in life?

I am director of communications for L’Oréal Luxe. I take care of public relations, events and social media for Giorgio Armani Beauty, YSL Beauty, Lancôme, Kiehl’s, Biotherm, Clarisonic, Urban Decay and Shu Uemura.

What are the first things you do when you wake up in the morning?

I wash my face, I complete my skincare routine and I drink my morning coffee (while scrolling through Instagram and reading my emails!)

What aspect of your jobs passionates you?

It’s very diverse and fast-paced. I can never get bored!

I work for extraordinary brands, all different from each other. Every brand has its own history, its personality, and I love being in the midst of it all! I have had the chance of meeting passionate people such as designers, makeup artists, perfumers or ambassadors. I love learning the process of how our products are made through their creativity.

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
A woman that inspires me a lot and that I have met a few times is the creator of the brand Urban Decay, Wende Zomnir. She is a successful woman who has launched her own brand that is now globally acclaimed, and is a mother of two sons. She lives in California, surfs, snowboards, and is very down-to-earth. She has done wonderful acts of charity and seems very balanced between her professional life and her personal life, and that, to me, is the key to success!

Be and remain authentic. Listen to your instincts. Work hard!

Are there people who have influenced you in your career?

Definitely: there are too many to count! I love meeting new people and I think that as the years have gone by, every single one of these people have inspired me, stimulated me and motivated me!

What are the most important qualities needed for your job?

You have to be efficient and organized! You need to be able to conduct many projects at the same time and be able to handle pressure. You need to keep calm when things don’t work out the way you expect them to, and because I work in an industry that is constantly changing, I have to be flexible, curious and aware of new trends!

What are assumptions people make about your job and your industry?

That it is very glamorous! There are definitely many glamorous moments, but the “behind the scenes” parts are definitely not what you would consider glamorous!

What is the best tip or advice you’ve ever gotten from someone?

Treat everything with respect and consideration, no matter what their position is.
