This weeks Xy’s Fave Five: Dine better

Gen from XY Contemporary shares her fave five images from instagram and pinterest!

It was 25 degrees in Montreal on Wednesday.

Typically, this equates to one thing: Terrace season.

Overnight, (no really, overnight) quiet streets go from heavy snow banks and slippery spots of black ice,

to bustling line ups of eager locals, dressed in summer season clothing, anxiously hoping to get a seat at the table outside.

This had me all thinking…

How are my readers dining? What do they place their dishes on?? What do they pull their chair up to???

(Alright fine. A Gin Martini taken outside did cross my mind a little…)

… but more so …the lack of options most of you find when shopping for dining furniture in the 514, had me rushing to write this post!

Yet another reason to hire XY Contemporary as your designer!

We have options for you that will help you dine in style.

Also, we think your food will taste better.

This week, my top five Pins were all about round tables.

Are round tables right for you?
No: If your space is rectangular.
Yes: If your space is squared off!
If you have a condo, or open space floor plan, we like to place an “imaginary line” of sorts,  around what we’d allocate as a dining area. If that line closes off as square, you know a round table is your best option.
It allows for better circulation and ergonomic.
Round tables with centre bases also allow for extra seats to be squeezed in for your dinner parties!
