Club Soya: The New Sushi Bar in Town

Montreal is affluent when it comes to gastronomy, and sushi bars are no different. But, rejoice, because there’s a new one in town. With an unique take on the traditional Japanese dish without deviating from its rich culture, Club Soya promises a tasty experience.

Located right next to the Quartier des Spectacles, Club Soya specializes in Japanese fusion cuisine. The menu, developed by the talented Geneviève Everell, incorporates various makis, “sushi-burritos”, poke bowls and a series of mocktails signed Étienne Bernard. The unique menu constantly changes to offer clients fresh seasonal dishes, and, unlike many sushi bars, focuses on quality instead of quantity. Using only the best and freshest ingredients in town, everything is made on the spot, in front of the customers.

The décor is minimalistic and touches of Japanese-inspired pieces adorn the cozy establishment. The small yet trendy building is perfect for intimate and private rendez-vous. The owner of Club Soya, Marc Lavigne, prioritizes local businesses, both for the food and the decoration. The stunning concept was developed by him and local entrepreneurs, adding a touch of “home” to the bar.

The outside terrace recently launched in honor of the warm weather, offering extra seats for clients who wish to try out the busy business. The wooden deck’s circular high tables and Europeanesque light poles are perfect for a warm summer night meal, and located only a few steps away from the summer festivities, Club Soya is the perfect restaurant for a late-night refreshing meal and drinks.
